Christiana has studied with numerous internationally acclaimed teachers and has had masterclasses with and been coached by multiple luminaries of the classical music world. After attending Aspen Music Festival in 2007, she was inspired to make playing chamber music a priority in her career. Recent classical chamber music festival appearances include performances at Nantucket Chamber Music Society (MA) playing with her trio, Tanguedia, and Madison Chamber Music Festival (GA) where she collaborated in a number of concerts with David Coucheron and Christopher Rex (concertmaster and principal cellist, respectively, of Atlanta Symphony), as well as with Rachel Barton Pine, Natasha Paremski, and Julie Coucheron, a frequent collaborator on the piano for solo classical recitals on tour. Other noteworthy performances of late include concerts at the Bay Chamber Music Concert Series in Maine, Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival in Florida, Seattle Town Hall’s “Global Rhythms” Concert Series in Washington, and the Electric Earth Concert Series in New Hampshire, the last of which was a special fundraiser benefit performing the Mendelssohn Octet with Adela Pena (a founding member of the Eroica Trio) Jonathan Bagg (member of the Ciompi Quartet and chair of chamber music department at Duke University), Lilit Gampel, Mary Hammann (Metropolitan Opera Orchestra), Alexis Sykes, Elizabeth Anderson and Kirsten Jerme.

While her passion remains first and foremost the classical music in which she was trained, Christiana is a champion of new music and is always interested in exploring new sounds and alternative styles. Among her latest projects branching out from traditional classical music involves a collaboration on both violin and viola with bandoneon player/composer JP Jofre’s Hard Tango Chamber Band, a tango ensemble at the forefront of introducing audiences to the “nuevo tango” idiom. This exciting group has already garnered accolades for their mesmerizing performances of original tango-infused compositions by JP Jofre in addition to playing traditional tangos and the music of Astor Piazzolla. Most recent performances with this ensemble include sold-out concerts at Lincoln Center in NYC and at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall for Rob Kapilow’s “What Makes it Great” series.

Another foray outside of the classical music world that Christiana actively pursues is playing on her electric 5-string instrument, drawing inspiration from many different sources while improvising solo, with a DJ, or over her own tracks.She has performed on solo electric playing for events ranging from art exhibits, to venue openings, to movie premiers, held all over the country in settings such as Mansion in Miami to the Frick Collection in NYC.

Collaborating with singer-songwriters and alternative bands is another endeavor that she greatly enjoys. Christiana can be heard playing on a multitude of tracks for varying artists on their albums and can be found on occasion performing live with them at choice venues in NYC. Ari Hest, Dave Godowsky, Alex Berger, Alex Wong, Peter Bradley Adams, Shanna Sharp, Delta Rae, Mike League and Bill Laurance (Snarky Puppy), and Krystal Warren and the Faculty are just a few of the artists with whom she has performed and/or recorded for as of late.

She has recorded for a variety of artists including Ricky Martin, Delta Goodrem, Shakira, and Gil Scott Heron and can be heard on award-winning independent and commercial film soundtracks, video game soundtracks, music videos, TV shows, and commercials.

In demand as a soloist as well as a chamber musician, she is frequently invited to play for a multitude of celebrity functions, charity events, galas, premieres, and launches, as well as for different shows and designers at NYC Fashion Week (Fall and Spring). A few other recent appearances she has made include performances at the Multicultural Gala honoring Samuel L. Jackson and Robert DeNiro at the Metropolitan Museum in NYC, the TJ Martell Foundation Awards at Cipriani, Bergdorf Goodman’s 111th Gala Celebration at the Plaza Hotel, The New York Public Library’s Centennial Anniversary Gala (“Celebrating 100 Years”), the Guggenheim Awards at Webster Hall, and various product launches and notable events for Baccarat, Cartier, BMW, and Google.
